Cycling News Headlines for May 29, 2011:

Indurain wants a resolution in Contador Case – Why? Contador is just like all the rest of the pro’s these days. Contador tested positive for Clenbuterol at last year’s Tour de France, but was cleared by the Spanish Cycling Federation in February. Contador needs to fall just like all those before him who have used any type of performance enhancing drugs!

Gilbert Enjoys His Favorite Terrain at the Tour Of Belgium — Another sharp hilltop finish and another victory for Philippe Gilbert (Omega Pharma-Lotto) on stage three of the Tour of Belgium. As at Amstel Gold, Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Gilbert simply had too much for his breakaway companions on the haul to the line.

RESULTS:

Australia’s Craig Alexander has WON the Aviva Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Singapore. Alexander was in the lead bunch out of the water and in to T1. South African, James Cunnama made ground on Alexander with a 2:07:36 bike split (0:2:12 faster than Alexander) and put in a fast 1:16:02 half marathon but it was not enough to take out Alexander. Australia’s Aaron Farlow was a further 0:1:12 behind Cunnama and took out 3rd overall.
